Urwerk Unveils the UR-210Y “Black Hawk”

Limited Edition of 75 pieces in titanium and AlTiN-treated steel

URWERK is proud to unveil the latest from their Atelier – the all new UR-210Y “Black Hawk” from the SIHH Fair in Geneva earlier this year.  The UR-210Y is the first timepiece from URWERK to be fitted with a unique black fabric strap.  Built of AlTiN-treated steel and high-tech titanium, and set on a striking dial, the UR-210Y is now tougher, darker and sleeker.

“In terms of the degree of evolution of the satellite carousel, I feel that with the UR-210, we have reached the pinnacle of what we can do with this complication.” explains Felix Baumgartner, master watchmaker and co-founder of URWERK. “The UR-210 represents a serious accomplishment for URWERK. It doesn’t just measure a universal value in a completely original way, but starts a real dialogue between the watch and its wearer. It indicates your personal activity; it is yours.” This complication triumphs by giving you the option of more precise control over your timepiece.

World-first complication that indicates winding efficiency over the last two hours

AlTiN stands for a group of metastable hard coatings consisting of aluminium, titanium and nitride. It is an application which was originally developed for industry. An AlTiN coating has the effect of multiplying the resistance of the underlying metal to scratches, shocks, oxidation and even acids. “It was only after having seen and extensively tested the exceptional properties of AlTiN that we approved its use for URWERK creations” says Felix Baumgartner, master watchmaker and co-founder of URWERK.

The UR-210Y is a watch that lives on your wrist. It is dependent on you: You feed it with energy, you breathe life into it.
