Stepan Sarpaneva was born in 1970 to a Finnish family with a long heritage of craftmanship. Son of jewellery designer Pentti Sarpaneva, Stepan was brought up to be a talented designer and craftsman.Perfectionism, enthusiasm and an infinite passion for watchmaking inspired Sarpaneva to create watches of his own. In 2003 he founded his own company in Helsinki, Finland where he individually handcrafts each watch at the workshop.

Gaël Petermann and Florian Bédat first met at the watchmaking school of Geneva in 2007 where they studied until 2011. After 2 and a half years working in Harry Winston, Florian Bédat joined Gaël at A. Lange &amp;amp; Söhne in Glasshütte.In 2014 Gaël came back to Switzerland where he started to restore vintage watches. 2 years later, Florian decided to join Gaël and they opened a workshop in Renens, followed by the launch of Petermann Bédat Sàrl in 2017. Developing their first in-house watch from scratch in 2019 the Reference 1967 was born.

De Bethune is an independent Swiss watch manufacturer located at L’Auberson, in the Jura mountain pastures of the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. When the first DB28 was launched in 2010, De Bethune’s idea was to present a timepiece with an identity all its own and a resolutely futuristic vision of the art of watchmaking. The distinctive case shape, the crown at 12 o’clock inspired by pocket watches. Just some of the hallmarks of the contemporary aestheticism specific to De Bethune. It is on this timepiece that De Bethune’s unique and innovative – and patented – floating lugs, designed also to significantly improve comfort, demonstrated their self-evident purpose.
