This year at Watches and Wonders 2025, Panerai reaffirmed its deep-rooted connection to maritime legacy and mechanical ingenuity, revealing a suite of contemporary novelties that reflect a thoughtful evolution of its Luminor Marina and complications portfolio. These introductions, while resolutely modern in construction and execution, carry forward the hallmarks that have long defined the Florentine watchmaker—resilience, legibility, and a purposeful sense of design.
Panerai’s history is deeply intertwined with the needs of the Italian Navy’s elite frogmen. Built for function, these watches were instruments first—defined by their cushion-shaped cases, luminous dials, and oversized crowns. Fast forward to today, and while their operational context may have changed, their utilitarian spirit remains.
The Luminor Marina collection consists of three new references that houses the new P.980 calibre with a traversing balance bridge and stop-seconds function. Its water resistance depth level has also been drastically increased to pair with X2 Super-LumiNova for even greater legibility underwater. The latest novelties has long served as a bridge between past and present, offering modern materials and in-house calibres without compromising on Panerai’s storied design language.
