A Week Of Celebrations With Pelé And Hublot Being The Official Timekeeper Of The Football Match “Soccer Aid“
Hublot loves Pelé! A week of celebrations with the King of Football.
Alongside the man of all records, Hublot is official timekeeper of the football match “Soccer Aid“.
It is in Manchester United’s legendary Old Trafford Stadium that the 6th “Soccer Aid” event, the brainchild of Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes, saw the “England” team win with the score of 3 – 2.
On Sunday, Old Trafford’s spectators attended a game broadcast live on ITV involving many of Hublot’s Ambassadors, Friends of the Brand and clients. With Pelé as guest of honor, José Mourinho as coach of the “English” team and Niall Horan of One Direction as assistant on the “Rest of the World” team, the referee Howard Webb , and on the ground, Dida, Cannavaro and Edgar Davids.
For 10 years now, “Soccer Aid” is held every two years and brings together the biggest stars from football, sport, music, television and film to play. “Soccer Aid” is an action-packed charity game that sees the “England Legends“ team competing against the “Rest of the World“ team. The only goal of this match is to raise money and vital support for Unicef, the world’s leading children’s organisation.
The now famous Hublot Referee Boards are used by the fourth official to indicate extra time and player changes. With a distinctive look, they are now an essential feature of major competitions after their new design introduced for the first time at the FIFA World Cup 2014TM.
José Mourinho, Hublot’s Ambassador, assisted by Unicef UK Ambassador Robbie Williams led the England team. As for the “Rest of the World” team, it was led by Claudio Ranieri, assisted by Niall Horan of One Direction.
On the field, the Brazilian legend Ronaldinho who was surrounded by Dida, Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Dimitar Berbatov and Edgar Davids. Together they played against the Special One’s squad, uniting Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, actor Damian Lewis and legends of English football, such as Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville.
While the Hublot stopwatch was ticking, Jermain Defoe scored the winning goal. Leading to the score until the end of the game, the “England” team won. To celebrate the victory, a Hublot wall clock was offered to Mark Wright, the “Man of the Match”
