Black Bay Pro

The latest technical model from Tudor comes with a whole new aesthetic. The new Black Bay Pro has a 39mm diameter steel case, fixed steel bezel, and a manufacture calibre MT5652. With a robust GMT function, reference time is indicated by the hallmark Snowflake hand edged in bright yellow, pointing to the 24-hour time indication on the radial-brushed, black-filled fixed bezel. Local time is indicated by the shorter and thicker snowflake hand in white, so there is no confusion between the two.

Tudor has further set itself apart in the Black Bay Pro with the luminescent plots on the dial. Unlike other models where the lume plots are filled inside metal outlines, these are entire ceramic luminous blocks. The 3D effect enhances visibility in dark conditions and improves legibility overall.

Sharing the same MT5652 manufacture movement is the new Black Bay GMT in steel and gold (S&G). This iteration of the Black Bay GMT features a 24-hour graduated rotating bezel with brown and black to represent day and night. The two-tone steel and gold case and crown is a subtle aesthetic nod to the history of this watchmaking function and gives a warm nostalgic touch.

This new Black Bay GMT S&G can show three time zones. The reference time by the longer, angular hallmark “Snowflake” hand which completes one lap of the dial every 24 hours. A thicker, shorter “Snowflake” hand shows the local time and can be set forwards or backward by the crown. With the bi-direction rotating bezel paired with the reference time hand, it is also possible to show a third time zone if desired. The date, visible through the aperture at 3 o’clock, is connected to the local time hand. When setting the time and passing by midnight in retrograde, the date will instantly jump backwards to the previous day, making time and date setting simple and intuitive.

The Black Bay GMT S&G comes with straps or a bracelet to suit every taste and lifestyle. The two-toned steel and yellow gold bracelet is a robust and durable choice for the adventurer. The “Terra de Siena” brown leather strap comes with a folding clasp and safety catch. The black fabric strap – features a beige band to compliment the bezel, and is made using the Jacquard technique, a traditional method from a century-old family business in the St-Etienne region of France.
