Anyone who feels at home on the world's seas, be it as an experienced sailor or enthusiastic water sports enthusiast, knows what to look out for: the weather - and often enough the tides. Because ebb and flow determine the rhythm of life on the coasts. Whichever port you call at, a comparison with the local tide table to determine the current tidal range is mandatory. However, it is also essential to look at the clock - especially if it is equipped with an internal tidal bezel like the 240 St GZ. With the tide bezel, the relative water level of a location for the current tide, i.e. until the next high tide, can be read off directly. You just need to know the time of the last flood and match it with the triangular "HW 1" on the rotating bezel. You can find this point in time on a tide table or the tide calendar, for example. You can read the current water level with the help of the hour hand directly on the tide bezel of the 240 St GZ. You can also read off the expected relative water levels for any time up to the next flood, and the time for the next flood is then displayed at position "HW 2".
