TAG Heuer Celebrates 50 Years of Carrera

Two iconic designs sharing an unmistakeable name reimagined as one. The new TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche tribute chronographs celebrate this 50^th anniversary.

In 2021, TAG Heuer and Porsche entered a partnership celebrating the shared history and values between the two brands. This latest instalment of the collaboration comes in the form of two limited edition chronographs paying tribute to one of Porsche’s most iconic models – the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which celebrates its 50^th anniversary in 2022.

Designed for racing and rallying, the first Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 made its debut on 5 October 1972. Blending racing spirit, performance, and elegance in a new way, at the time it was the fastest German production automobile of its day, ad the most powerful 911 available for use on the street. This same philosophy was the driving force for the Heuer Carrera chronograph, a watch engineered for optimal timekeeping and legibility in high-speed racing conditions, yet still elegant in its design for everyday wear.

Two Vibrant Versions

The 42mm TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph serves as the canvas for the two new limited editions. The Sporty Blue Edition features a finely polished steel case, with rhodium-plated indexes, hour and minute hands, reminiscent of chrome door handles, mirrors, and window frames on cars. Two sub-counters with an eye-catching snailed finish against a smooth white opaline dial.

This sporty feel continues with the Porsche design codes that are seamlessly integrated in this Carrera chronograph. The Carrera logo makes an appearance on the dial, as well as in its signature colour stripe on the flange, case side, and fabric strap. Limited to 500 pieces, the Sporty Blue edition comes with a sporty fabric strap featuring the Porsche logo and Carrera markings, as well as an elegant steel bracelet with ergonomic H-shaped links.

The Sporty Red edition features a refined 18K 5N rose gold case, with rose gold pushers, crown, and screw-down sapphire case back. The fiery signature Porsche red colour accent the watch, with a sharp red second hand, red touches on the sub-counter markings and seconds scale on the flange. A luxurious red alligator strap with a rose gold-plated pin buckle complete the sophisticated look of this watch. Limited to 250 pieces.
