Iconic Motorsport Colours
TAG Heuer shakes up its popular Formula 1 collection with three stylish models in fresh and energetic colours of green, yellow, and red. Capturing the spirit of the racetrack, the latest Formula 1 chronographs celebrate the brand’s deep connection with motorsports. Green, yellow, and red have been signature motorsport colours for decades, be it race car livery colours to indicate the nation of origin for cars, drivers, and teams, to flags, lights, track markings, and team liveries today. Pairing with this enduring palate is an updated design code, a combination that is sure to inject fun into this collection.
First released in the 1980s, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection are celebrated for the vibrant colours and edgy character. This distinct mix of high performance and daring style is once again at the forefront with the release of the latest novelties.
All in the Details
The new Formula 1 chronograph comes in a 43mm fine-brushed stainless-steel case with a strong black PVD steel fixed tachymeter-scale bezel and positive numerals. A checkered flag motif features on screw-down steel case back, the sign of a successfully completed face.
Housed in this stylish case is a coloured luminous sunray brushed dial. Three “azurage” chronograph sub-counters in black add texture, depth, and light effects. The angled date window at 4 o’clock, the hands, and indices are coated with white Super-LumiNova for legibility in all conditions. With a textured rubber strap matching the colour of the dial, the vivid hue completes the bright look.
Each of the green, yellow, and red editions have slight differentiating details, for optimal clarity and balance. On the green edition, the indexes and hands are black with white Super-LumiNova. This is set against a white lacquered central hand, and the sub-counters circled in red. For the yellow edition, the indexes are black with white Super-LumiNova, with black hours and minutes hands, and a contrasting red lacquered centre hand. The hands and indexes are rhodium-plated with white Super-LumiNova in the red edition. This is paired with a white lacquered central hand and sub-counters circled in white. All three editions are powered by a quartz movement, and water-resistant to 200 metres.
TAG Heuer once again channels the company’s deep connection with motorsports in this latest release. These colourful novelties will be available at select boutiques from September 2022.
