Girard-Perregaux Laureato 42mm Now Comes in Green
Channelling the timelessness, elegance and symbolism of this virescent hue, Girard-Perregaux makes a new addition to its iconic Laureato collection. The new Laureato 42mm Green continues the story of this iconic watch which was born in 1975 with an appeal that has endured the passage of time.
An Enduring Classic Now in Green
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato has proved to be an evergreen collection, remaining timeless and relevant since its launch in 1975. Encased in steel with an integrated bracelet, the classic Laureato has proved to be a versatile watch, easily transitioning between sporty, casual, and formal looks.
In this latest release, Girard-Perregaux pairs this icon of the 1970s with a new, virescent shade of green. With a Clous de Paris patterned dial, the richness of the green dial colour is accentuated as it transitions from one shade to another, changing with the light.
Evergreen Heritage
As a Manufacture known for Haute Horlogerie, the new Laureato showcases a plethora of details. While the juxtaposition of polished and satin finished surfaces on the case and bracelet is a nod to the Laureato tradition, the baton-style hands and indexes are in black PVD filled with white luminescent material – both modern adornments. Inside, the Calibre GP01800 self-winding movement, is also richly decorated with a variety of finishes, from circular graining on the main plate, straight Côtes de Genève on bridges, and various engravings.
A Lesson in Design
The 1970s was an extraordinary period for design. Creativity imbued in a variety of objects, and this prowess for design manifested in the stylings of several highly original watches. The Laureato is one such example. It combines a number of different shapes to form a distinctive yet cohesive look: an octagonal bezel that sits on a circular plinth. This, in turn, is positioned above an angular tonneau-shaped case, and completed by an integrated bracelet that ergonomically fits the wrist.
The new Girard-Perregaux Laureato 42mm in Green features a 42mm stainless steel case with integrated stainless steel bracelet. Powered by the Calibre GP01800 self-winding movement, it has a power reserve of 54 hours. Available from December 2022.
