Six Decades of Tudor Divers’ Watches
We’re pleased to announce the opening of the new Tudor boutique at ION Orchard. Styled in the brand’s colours – black, red and white – the Tudor boutique has been designed with unique materials to create a bold and distinctive image of the brand’s identity.
To celebrate the launch of the boutique, Tudor is unveiling a thoughtfully curated showcase titled ‘Six Decades of Tudor Divers’ Watches’. A Southeast Asian first, from 1–13 December 2020, exploring the evolution of diving watches from each decade and honouring the brand’s memorable milestones as a supplier of divers’ watches to some of the largest navies in the world. The adoption of these watches by professionals in military organisations pushed the brand’s products to its limits and is a testament of Tudor’s undeniable quality over the last sixty years.
Immerse yourself in the history and conception of the brand’s relationship with the pioneer divers of the French and US navies. Amongst those historical models displayed are the Oyster Prince Submariner (ref 7922), TUDOR’s first divers’ watch launched in 1954 and the Oyster Prince Submariner (ref 9401/0) which was issued to the Marine nationale (French Navy) in 1980.
Presently, TUDOR’s Black Bay collection pays homage to this rich aquatic history with several variations, in different metals, sizes and functions. The current Black Bay collection includes references to the 1958 and 1969 models, which first introduced the brand’s use of the ‘Big Crown’ and ‘snowflake hands’. Despite the evolution, the divers’ watch has stood the test of time. It is a robust object providing excellent quality timepieces to professionals and the common man at an accessible price.
The Six Decades of TUDOR Divers’ Watches display will be held from 1 December 2020 to 13 December 2020, 11am – 9pm daily at TUDOR Boutique, ION Orchard #01-14.
