Hublot has finally reopened its doors at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, but it’s more than just a makeover. Here’s a glimpse of what to expect.
Take a stroll along The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and you might realise that Hublot looks nothing like before. After a major refresh, the facade immediately strikes attention with its majestic carved wood panels and, in contrast, panels of artwork in pops of serotonin-inducing colours. The warm and inviting tones continue within the boutique with blond wood floors, neutral-coloured furniture and expertly-designed lighting that mimic the look and feel of natural sunlight.
But it’s more than just a brand new look for the 71 sqm space. Managed by The Hour Glass, Hublot at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands marks the debut of an empowering new retail concept in Southeast Asia. One that was first, and only recently, introduced in Hublot’s store in Tokyo’s uber chic Omotesando district.
Aptly called the Free Access Display concept, it offers a new groundbreaking experience for the brand as it invites visitors to freely reach for the Hublot watches placed on raised tables. This is compared to the traditional means of placing the watches in conventional display cases and built-in shelves, thus requiring the attention and assistance of a Hublot staff member. Now, visitors can spontaneously appreciate every detail of the watch that catches their attention.
“At Hublot, we are always looking out for fresh and unique ways to engage with our clients, and this retail concept is a good way to do that. Besides the opportunity for clients to have better access to the watches they like, the space itself encourages exploration of the brand. As long-standing partners of The Hour Glass, Hublot is pleased to rely on their experience in retail to manage this Boutique, and welcome a new generation of buyers to grow to understand and appreciate the brand,” says Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.
In addition, the Hublot boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands features the brand’s Southeast Asia’s first private VIP lounge area for a more intimate and comfortable experience. Above all, visitors will be treated to the phenomenal hospitality of the boutique staff who would be more than happy to share Hublot’s unique history, watch discussions or even industry chit-chat.
“As our customers continue to evolve, it is our priority to propose interesting new retail experiences like the Free Access Display,” says Michael Tay, Group Managing Director of The Hour Glass. “Hublot, whom we have partnered with for the past 43 years, has never shied away from innovation in both product and retail ideation, and this unique boutique concept matches that spirit. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of buyers whose boldness and creativity match that of Hublot’s.”
