Fashion & Hublot – 4 Watches That Take Haute Horlogerie To Haute Couture

One of the most high profile names in contemporary watchmaking, Hublot has injected high fashion into its watchmaking with diverse collaborations, ranging from a Swiss embroidery specialist to Fiat heir Lapo Elkann.

Big Bang Jeans
In the world of fashion, there’s nothing as versatile and widely adopted as jeans. Using the same denim maker that supplies a number of high fashion names, Hublot applies a special treatment so that the jeans fabric in the dial won’t fade or discolor over time and under sunlight.

Big Bang Broderie
There’s nothing quite as lavishly feminine as fine embroidery. The fruit of a close collaboration with Bischoff, a leading Swiss supplier of embroidery to some of the biggest names in haute couture, Hublot sought to immortalize this work into a watch, using an exclusively developed method to create carbon fiber components bearing such intricate embroidery. Original in its concept and exquisite in its execution, the Big Bang Broderie received Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève 2015 prize for “Ladies’ Watch” of the year.

Big Bang Pop Art
If Andy Warhol were to take his paintbrush to a Hublot, the result would probably look something like the Big Bang Pop Art. Inspired by art movement of the same name that took form in the 1950s and to a greater extent the 60s, the Big Bang Pop Art makes use of vibrant contrasts to create a striking, seemingly hand-painted work of wearable art with a retro twist.

Big Bang Italia Independent
Because flair and style isn’t just for the fairer sex, Hublot joined forces with Lapo Elkann’s creative Italia Independent label to create a collaborative series of watches that encapsulates the high-tech ethos of Hublot and modern panache of Italia Independent, using colored Texaluim coated carbon fiber elements to produce an electrifyingly outstanding pieces. Matching Italia Independent sunglasses are completed to complete the look.
