Ulysse Nardin is pleased to announce the arrival of its much anticipated Marine Chronometer Manufacture. Unveiled at Basel Fair 2012, the striking collection represents one of the most significant developments in the Manufacture, uniting art and precision technology with enamel and the proprietary UN-118 calibre. A legacy for over a 100 years, Ulysse Nardin’s marine chronometers dominated the world’s marine fleets, cherished for their precision.
In its evolution, the Marine Chronometer Manufacture features DiamondSil, a diamond-coated silicium in-house movement – the UN-118 calibre. Recognized as one of the few forerunners of silicium technology, the UN-118 is a testament of Ulysse Nardin’s endless pursuit of excellence, especially in proprietary movements. The movement features a stellar 60-hour power reserve indicator, oversized small seconds register and a date display at 6 o’clock. It boasts Ulysse Nardin’s “quick setting” allowing forward and backward date adjustments.
The Limited Edition piece exhibits a pure-white handcrafted enamel dial, produced in-house by Donzé Cadrans, the world-recognized enamalist and the latest member of the Ulysse Nardin group of companies. A refined and complex decorative technique, enamelling requires high level of skill and mastery of the artisan.
Limited to 350 pieces in 18-karat rose gold, the Marine Chronometer Manufacture is also available in titanium-stainless steel case. Retailing at The Hour Glass Singapore boutiques.
