In the world of watches, few forms are as instantly recognisable or as steeped in narrative as the Reverso. For 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre draws deeply from its storied past to unveil The 1931 Polo Club—an immersive concept that not only honours the watch’s polo origins but boldly redefines the Reverso’s cultural and technical footprint. Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a total of nine new references for the Reverso at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 with its theme on artistry and innovation, weaving heritage with modern sophistication.
The conception of the Reverso was born not in a boardroom but on a polo field in British India, a response to the call of British officers who sought a watch resilient enough for their vigorous sport. This challenge found its answer through César de Trey, who partnered with Jaeger-LeCoultre to create the reversible watch case—engineered by designer René-Alfred Chauvot. Thus, in 1931, a new archetype was born.
Fast forward to today, and the Reverso stands not only as a hallmark of Art Deco design but as a chronicle of enduring innovation. The Reverso has moved fluidly from its sports origin to become a canvas for fine craftsmanship and technical ingenuity.
