At LVMH Watch Week 2026, the Maison Gérald Genta has unveiled two captivating additions to its Geneva collection: the Geneva Time Only Marrone and the Geneva Time Only Grafite. These new creations continue the brand's celebration of "l'Esprit de Genève" whilst honouring the artistic legacy of the legendary watch designer Mr Gérald Genta.

The Geneva collection, which debuted with the technically demanding Minute Repeater, has now evolved into a more accessible time-only interpretation. Designed by Matthieu Hegi, Artistic Director of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, the new creations introduce a slimmer profile and a versatile 38 mm case size, delivering what the brand describes as an understated yet unmistakably Gérald Genta presence.

"I wanted to capture the intuitive, instinctive genius and artistry of Mr Genta," explains Hegi, whose design choices reflect a deep understanding of the founder's original vision whilst bringing it firmly into the contemporary era.

The Geneva Time Only reveals the watch's slim 8.15 mm profile and the refined single lug design introduced by Artistic Director Matthieu Hegi

Central to the Geneva collection's identity is its updated cushion-shaped case, a softer interpretation of Mr Genta's original 1970s design. Neither round nor square, the case features a gadroon that creates a timeless, modern silhouette transcending passing trends. The interplay of light plays a paramount role in the collection's aesthetic.

A deliberate contrast between polished and satin surfaces reinforces the case's contemporary, understated character. Each case is meticulously crafted in-house at La Fabrique des Boîtiers, ensuring the highest standards of finishing. Hegi has also opted for a single, broader, and shorter lug on each side, a deliberate refinement that sharpens the case's distinctive contours and contributes to its comfortable everyday wearability.

The two new models bring the Geneva collection into warm and cool worlds through carefully considered tone-on-tone colour palettes. The Geneva Time Only Marrone features a case and hands in rose gold 4N, renowned for its ability to catch and reflect light. Its grained brass dial displays a gradient smoked effect that leans into a soft, warm hue. A brown leather strap complements the piece, offering a subtle bronze, smouldering aesthetic with a touch of retro elegance.

The Geneva Time Only Grafite delivers a cooler metallic presence with its white gold case and silver-shaded grained brass dial. Rounded gold hands and indexes add depth and contrast, serving as a nod to Mr Genta's fondness for craftsmanship with character. The watch is finished with a grey calfskin leather strap.

A distinctive feature of both models is the two-segment minute track dial, which creates captivating optical illusions and generates a sense of soft intensity. The outer segment follows the case's unique cushion shape, whilst the inner segment is perfectly circular, complementing the watch's delicate "not-quite-round" form. Nothing disturbs the flow of hours and minutes on these elegantly restrained dials.

Powering both pieces is the Zenith Elite GG-005P automatic movement, visible through an open caseback. The calibre features a revisited in-house oscillating mass designed for enhanced aesthetics, offering a 50-hour power reserve and a 4 Hz frequency. The movement contains 158 components with 27 jewels, each meticulously finished. The calibre measures 25.6 mm in diameter and just 3.88 mm in thickness, contributing to the watches' slim 8.15 mm overall profile. Its refined construction ensures unwavering reliability and exceptional accuracy for everyday wear.

The Spirit of Geneva

The name "Geneva" transcends mere geography for this collection. Beyond being Mr Gérald Genta's birthplace and the location of the Maison's revival, Geneva embodies pure refinement and unpretentious horological mastery. It represents the spirit of a city where creativity truly takes form. The collection reflects "l'Esprit de Genève," where perfection is born from passion, patience, and the joy of creation. It remains utterly true to Mr Genta's watchmaking savoir-faire and his profound devotion to beauty.

A Legacy Reimagined

Gérald Genta was founded in 1969 in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr Genta designed from a radical impulse to create without limits, free from briefs or compromise. This independence allowed him to fully express his visionary language, marked by inventive design and a love of form and function in perfect balance.

Revived in 2023 with the support of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton and under Matthieu Hegi's artistic direction, the Maison continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking with collections that embrace modernity whilst honouring the brand's avant-garde heritage. With these two new creations, the Geneva collection opens a fresh chapter where light, proportion, and sculptural intent align, reinforcing its place as contemporary art for the wrist.
