PMT The Hour Glass Celebrates 15 Years of Partnership

PMT The Hour Glass welcomes the 15^th anniversary of a pioneering partnership. The celebration event includes a special exhibition highlighting the company’s milestones and achievements since 2008. A number of exclusive limited-edition watches from key partners were launched to commemorate this occasion.

Partnership Based on a Shared Passion

PMT The Hour Glass started with Narun Thamavaranukup and Michael Tay, when their paths crossed in 2007. Coming from families deeply involved in the specialty watch business, the two partners bonded over their mutual passion for watches. While both were already leading their own family businesses in specialty watch retail, it took them more than 12 months to learn about each other before finally deciding to join forces. The joint venture, PMT The Hour Glass, was inaugurated in 2008, marking the start of a new chapter for the two young business leaders in Thailand and in the Southeast Asian region.

Since then, PMT The Hour Glass has exemplified this passion for watches with numerous notable events. In 2011, Tempus on Tour Exotique took over the Hall of Mirrors at Siam Paragon in Bangkok, in the largest showcase of haute horlogerie the country had seen. The same year saw the prestigious Only Watch auction pieces making a stop in Thailand, with unique creations by notable brands and artisanal watchmakers made especially for the charity auction on full display. In 2019, the entire collection of shortlisted nominated watches for the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève was brought to Bangkok, where PMT The Hour Glass hosted this stopover at the Siam Paragon boutique. Such events have provided the local watch community unprecedented access to the best of contemporary watchmaking, and in turn, gain a better understanding of the history, craftsmanship and technology behind horology.

 From the very beginning of the joint venture, PMT The Hour Glass has placed particular emphasis on advancing watch culture, driven by a deep-rooted passion for watches. This passion is exemplified in the continued pursuit of operational and service excellence, which has gained the trust of our brand partners – and this trust has helped strengthen the relationship with our brand partners over time.

PMT The Hour Glass is proud to manage the largest number of Patek Philippe point of sales in Thailand, including the flagship boutique at Bangkok’s ICONSIAM, launched in 2019. We are also the leading Rolex retailer in the Kingdom, a network that includes the Rolex Central Embassy Bangkok boutique, and four Rolex showrooms across boutiques in Bangkok and Phuket. As the exclusive retailer of Hublot in Southeast Asia, our dedicated Hublot boutiques at Siam Paragon and Central Embassy in Bangkok were among the top 10 best performing boutiques in the world in 2022. Moreover, as a key partner of Tudor in the country, PMT The Hour Glass was trusted to open the first Tudor boutique under the new concept in Thailand, with plans to open a second Tudor boutique by the end of this year.

Furthermore, having studied neighboring markets for more than 5 years, PMT The Hour Glass made the first foray into Vietnam. Currently, PMT The Hour Glass operates boutiques across Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to the delight of local watch enthusiasts and collectors.

Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel Blue

Freak X Enamel Blue merges ancient métiers d’art and cutting-edge technology, with In-house know-how maintained by Ulysse Nardin’s craftsmen. The hour disc of this novelty is first treated according to the guilloché technique gives a modern touch to the dial. Then came the enamelling. A decorative technique perpetuated and transmitted over generations of craftsmen. As the guardian of specialized enamelling techniques, Ulysse Nardin is once again playing a role in the past, present, and future of Haute Horlogerie. The expertise and mastery of ancient métiers d’art, such as enamel, meld with the Freak’s innovative and disruptive emblems and codes. The Freak X Enamel Blue is limited to 50 pieces.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph 42mm

Girard-Perregaux is pleased to unveil a limited-edition Laureato Chronograph, marking the 15th anniversary of its trusted retail partner in the Asia Pacific region, PMT The Hour Glass. Embracing the design codes of the legendary Laureato, first released in 1975, this specific model features a sunray green dial, a colour the prestigious retailer has made its own. Housed in a 42mm case, formed of 18-carat pink gold, this sumptuous creation is limited to just 50 pieces.

MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT

The Legacy Machine FlyingT, first launched in 2019, is the first of MB&F’s three-dimensional horological art pieces inspired by women.In 2023 The Legacy Machine Flying T welcomes the new member ‘Coeur de Rubis’. Its name comes from its delicate pink-toned dial made from a Tanzanian gemstone called anyolite – also known as ‘Cœur de Rubis’ in French. This limited edition only comes in five pieces that have been created exclusively for PMT The Hour Glass based in Bangkok, celebrating its 15th birthday and marking its special relationship with MB&F.

URWERK UR-100V Diamonds

The 100 collection was conceived with simplicity and minimalism in mind. ‘Simple’ is an easily uttered word that nonetheless cannot totally reflect the full extent of Martin Frei’s aesthetic linguistics and Felix Baumgartner’s horological technicality with the satellite configuration of wandering hours and minutes. Even more explicitly than all other URWERK creations, the UR-100V is entirely bound up with the realm of space. The two recesses on the sides of its satellite carrier counts the kilometers travelled by Earth along its own axis in 20 minutes, namely 555km, and the other of the distance travelled by Earth around the Sun in the same period of time. To commemorate the special partnership with PMT The Hour Glass, three pièce unique watches have been crafted: a green version set with diamonds and green emeralds, a red version set with diamonds and rubies, and a blue version with diamonds and blue sapphires. All feature a case and bezel in steel and titanium, set with 482 stones totalling 2 carats.
