FlyingT

MB&F launched the FlyingT in 2019. Billed as the first female-oriented watch from the Swiss Independent, the FlyingT was created as a tribute to the women in Max Büsser’s life. Under the high-domed sapphire crystal, a 60-second tourbillon whirls round, above a hand guillochéd Comblémine dial (Kari Voutilainen’s dial workshop)The unique scalloped design was created by engraving a brass disc with a hand-guided rose engine.

Featuring a three-dimensional architecture under a high domed sapphire crystal, central flying 60-second tourbillon, 100 hours power-reserve, 30 jewels and 280 parts. Hours and minutes are only visible to the wearer, displayed on a 50° vertically titled lacquer dial with serpentine hands.  Turn the watch over to see a three-dimensional winding rotor in the shape of a radiating sun.

Engine

In a departure from most modern watch movements, which take a radial and co-planar approach to movement construction, the LM FlyingT engine (and the HM7 engine before it) utilise a vertical and co-axial approach. The flying tourbillon is a visually stunning example of the rotating escapement and stands in stark contrast to other flying tourbillons, which usually do not venture past the confines of their surrounding watch dials. The 280-component engine of Legacy Machine FlyingT has a power reserve of four days and comes on either a calf or alligator leather strap (with matching red gold or platinum pin buckle).
