Hublot Opens a Second Boutique in Kuala Lumpur
Hublot celebrates a long-awaited milestone – a second standalone boutique Kuala Lumpur. Overlooking Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s central concourse, it flaunts the new design language of trans-avant-gardism that expresses the brand’s mastery of innovative materials. Etched anodized aluminium panels shroud the three facades of the corner-lot boutique in 19m of sleek matte black.
The Hublot experience begins at the exterior with two giga-screens flashing snapshots of its universe, spanning striking collections to creative collaborations. Glass, metal and cutting-edge technology coalesce to exude the Art of Fusion philosophy that catapulted the brand to the summit of contemporary Swiss luxury watchmaking.
“We are thrilled to see Kuala Lumpur welcome a second Hublot boutique, joining neighbours such as Bangkok and, soon, Singapore. This is testament to strong demand within the region and the attractiveness of Hublot’s ethos and products in one of the world’s most sophisticated markets.” – Michael Tay
The interiors radiate the same dynamism, juxtaposing timber furniture in white and rich chocolate ceramic with pewter grey furnishing and contemporary lines. Vivid pops of colour punctuate this urban palette in the form of lively commissioned artwork and, of course, timepieces featuring imaginative use of materials such as rubber, ceramic, sapphire and gold in ground-breaking expressions. It is a 360° immersion into the world of Hublot, continuing all the way up to the mirrored ceiling and chandelier.
“Mono-brand boutiques will continue to be a key strategy for Hublot as they allow clients to remain close to developments taking place at our home in Switzerland while strengthening our visibility and prominence in a competitive landscape. This proves that connoisseurs appreciate these authentic experiences of advanced watchmaking by one of the industry’s vanguards.” – Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot CEO
The Hublot boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur complements the recently refurbished flagship Hublot Suria KLCC at Petronas Twin Towers. Kuala Lumpur was chosen as the first location to debut a standalone point-of-sale in Southeast Asia and this expansion cements the city’s standing as a prime base for the brand in this region.
Following a successful 40th anniversary celebration in 2020, Hublot is keen to mark a new decade in its legacy with superlative additions to its horological stable. State-of-the-art releases such as the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire, Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic, and the Big Bang MP-11 Magic Gold capture its creativity and ingenuity while special editions such as the 1,000-piece connected Big Bang e UEFA Euro 2020TM celebrate the innovation that comes with astute partnerships.
