Hublot, of course, is no stranger to the event, and the 2019 releases from the brand did not disappoint. Continue reading for a roundup of Hublot’s new offerings and plan your wish list accordingly!
Big Bang Sang Bleu II in King Gold
Hublot has had a very successful collaboration with tattoo artist Maxime Buchi, and the Big Bang Sang Bleu II in King Gold is the next in line for the series. The 45 mm case has a large diamond as the hour indicator, with a long seconds hand that runs across the face with a small white triangle in the subdial at 3 o’clock for the minute hand. The Buchi line has always had a busy face, but the Sang Bleu II simplifies this somewhat, complete with a 72-hour power reserve. Limited to 100 pieces.
Classic Fusion Ferrari GT
The main focus of Baselworld for Hublot was the byproduct their long-running partnership with Ferrari. The new Classic Fusion Ferrari GT is inspired by Gran Turismo with a stunning design that incorporates a new UNICO manufacture movement.
The are three style options, Microblasted Titanium (Limited to 1000 pieces), Microblasted King Gold (Limited to 500 pieces), and 3D Carbon (Limited to 500 pieces). All are powered by the new HUB1280 UNICO Manufacture Self-winding Chronograph flyback movement, the second of Hublot’s chronograph calibres, protected by four patents, with 72-hours of power reserve.
The cases are 45 mm in diameter, and at relatively slim 13.15 mm high, Hublot is once again pushing the boundaries of watchmaking.
Big Bang One Click Marc Ferrero
The new collaboration with artist Marc Ferrero celebrates the 21st-century woman as a muse and modern heroine. The Big Bang One Click features Lipstick on the dial with a range of detailed female faces. Available in both red or turquoise colours, the piece features 42 sparkling gems set in a 39 mm case limited to 50 pieces.
The New Classic Fusion Orlinski
The hugely popular Hublot/Orlinski partnership continues with a slightly smaller Classic Fusion Orlinski. At 4 0mm, the new model is perfect for those who prefer a more subtle timepiece and the new faceted dial reflects light beautifully with every wrist movement, some extra pizazz!
The piece features a dodecagon bezel with angles that line up with the hour indications and is limited to 200 (100 in titanium and 100 in King Gold). There is also a diamond-encrusted option of both pieces that features 112 diamonds, and 210 gems.
Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon
Limited to only 100 pieces per colour, the new Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon is made of a carbon fibre composite with blue or black compound highlights. The manually-winding skeletonized tourbillon calibre features a 5-day power reserve, all viewable via the sapphire crystal case back.
One of the more expensive releases from Hublot, we can likely expect more developments in this range in the years ahead.
