THE GPHG NOMINATION TOUR RETURNS TO BANGKOK AFTER 8 YEARS

Eight years after its first presentation in Thailand, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Nomination Tour returns to Bangkok from 15–18 OCT 2026. Hosted by PMT The Hour Glass at The Forum, Gaysorn Amarin, the four-day public exhibition will present 78 nominated watches. Bangkok is one of four destinations on the 2026 tour, alongside Mumbai, Geneva, and London.

The exhibition takes place before the GPHG’s 26th awards ceremony on 7 NOV 2026, when 20 prizes will be announced, including the Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or. Established in 2001, the GPHG has been overseen since 2011 by a foundation recognised as a public-interest organisation. Its annual awards and international travelling exhibitions present nominated watches to audiences in several cities before the results are announced.

A Revised Category Structure

The 2026 edition introduces several changes to the category structure. Essential Watch and Complication Watch replace the long-standing Men’s and Ladies’ categories, with entries classified by purpose and technical achievement.

Gemset Watch has also been introduced as a dedicated category for gem-setting. Revised prizes recognise enduring design and technical innovation, while other changes address contributions to the future of watchmaking.

Education and Community Exchange

Alongside the exhibition, PMT The Hour Glass will present a curated programme designed to encourage learning and community engagement. It will provide visitors with further context on contemporary watchmaking and create opportunities for exchange within the local watch community.

The programme continues on the educational work PMT The Hour Glass has instilled in Thailand. Through collaborations with watchmakers, cultural institutions, and industry partners, the company encourages closer study of horological craft and makes watchmaking more accessible to collectors and the public.

The future of watchmaking is shaped not only by extraordinary watches, but also by the people, philosophies, and passions that bring them to life. Hosting the GPHG offers a unique opportunity to deepen understanding, inspire a greater love of watches, and create meaningful exchange within the community. Bangkok on the 2026 Tour

Bangkok’s inclusion on the tour reflects the development of Thailand’s watch community. Collectors have become more knowledgeable, and interest in independent watchmaking has grown. The exhibition will be open to collectors, enthusiasts, industry professionals, and the wider public.
