Ulysse Nardin Opens First Flagship Boutique in Singapore and its largest in Asia

Swiss luxury watch manufacture Ulysse Nardin and its exclusive retail partner, The Hour Glass are proud to announce the opening of the first Ulysse Nardin flagship boutique in Singapore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.  With over 2 decades of close exclusive-retailer relationship, the new standalone Ulysse Nardin boutique signifies a milestone of the strong bond shared between The Hour Glass and the independent watch manufacture.

Largest in Asia, unique to Singapore

Set to provide an unprecedented retail experience, the Ulysse Nardin boutique spans close to 1,000 square feet – the largest flagship store in Asia.  Housed under one roof, horology buffs can feast their eyes on the complete collection of the Swiss marque’s diverse range, from its legacy marine chronometers to award-winning high complications and a dedicated collection of ladies mechanical gems.

The Singapore boutique is distinctively different from its other counterparts worldwide.  Modeled closely after the Ulysse Nardin Baselworld wooden striped booth facade in Switzerland, it also features a world premier 3-dimensional globe dome with reference to the brand’s famous high complication, the Moonstruck watch dial.  Encirled within the oversize marine porthole, the iridescent dome is a signature stamp of originality, unique only to the Singapore boutique.

Maritime Legacy-Inspired

Founded in 1846, Ulysse Nardin’s roots are steeped in maritime legacy.  Winner of over 4,300 horological awards, its marine chronometers were hailed and used by major imperial navies across the world in the 19th and 20th centuries.  Drawing inspiration from its noble past, enter the doors of the boutique and immerse yourself in the world of Ulysse Nardin, punctuated with marine paraphernalia: anchor emblems, porthole display units house the timepieces, and antique 19th century naval instrucments perpetuate the old-world seafaring charm.  Exacting to each detail, the exclusive teak floor is made of the same material used in the yachting industry, chose for its authenticity.

World Premiere of 2014 Masterpieces

In honour of the boutique opening, the Baselworld 2014 masterpieces are specially flown in immediately after the fair to Singapore, for a limited time only.  Visitors will be amongst the first in the world to view the 2014 watch novelties up-close, including the Imperial Blue Grande Sonnerie, Jazz Minute Repeater, Tiger Hourstriker and the eagerly anticipated enamel art masterpiece Classico Horse, only until 11 May 2014.

Ulysse Nardin at The Shoppes will also usher in iconic talking pieces such as the Freak Limited Edition, a 20-piece commemorative collection exclusive to The Hour Glass only; the Freak Blue Cruiser, the latest addition to the Freak family.  A watch with no true case, no crown nor hands, the Freak remains one of the most inventive timepieces in horology.  Exclusive Boutique Editions will also be available only in the boutique.
