5 Men’s Watches Here With Diamonds That Look Properly Masculine
As everybody knows, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. For once, let us men, not be jealous of the gemset watches ladies enjoy by demonstrating that we can also have diamonds on our watches and however still look profoundly masculine.
The Rolex Day-Date 40 in platinum
Launched during Baselworld 2015, the new Rolex Day-Date 40 (named after its new, slightly smaller 40mm diameter) features a reworked design – a slimmer case, thinner lugs, new dials and new construction of the bracelet – without losing its all-time classic look. The key innovation remains of course the brand new in-house movement, the calibre 3255.
It is available in every precious metal (white, yellow or pink gold, as well as platinum) with diamonds on the bezel (round or baguette cut) and also with the hour markers in baguette diamonds. We have a preference here for the platinum edition, with light blue dial, for an understated contrast with the diamonds.
The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5724
Another iconic watch that is easily wearable by men, even with diamonds on the bezel and the lug links. The baguette cut diamonds keep the look masculine and robust and the clever integration of diamonds emphasizes some of the design clues of the Nautilus. This edition features the rather complicated display, with power reserve, moon-phase, date and small second, with Patek Philippe in-house movement but adorned with diamonds.
The Hublot Big Bang Unico King Gold Pavé
The Hublot Big Bang is one of the few watches that men can wear both with or without diamonds. It seems that this combination of gold and diamonds is natural for this watch. We chose here the Unico edition, for its in-house chronograph movement and the robust case, mixing Hublot’s proprietary gold, black ceramic and rubber – a fusion of materials that is the hallmark of the brand. Diamonds sparkle on the bezel and the case, yet maintaining the masculine form of the design.
The De Bethune DB25 S Jewellery
Here diamonds really enhance to the design of the watch, being subtle and not only set on the bezel as is convention. The use of diamonds is restrained and delicate, just to highlight a night-sky (made of blued titanium) full of stars. Also note that the casebands also feature some precious gems – baguette-cut blue sapphires to be precise – and then again, this edition is never ostentatious and can easily be worn by a man.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Offshore Chronograph fully paved
Here we enter the world of high-jewellery with another iconic and very masculine watch, the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, that features a case and a dial fully paved with baguette diamonds. The use of this type of diamonds make the watch still look very robust and gives this a flashy look, almost an “iceberg”. The use of restrained white gold and black indexes and leather strap complement the dazzling stones.
