The Hour Glass is proud to announce its new and exclusive partnership with F.P.Journe, a highly acclaimed independently-owned manufacturer of haute horology, with creations that have spanned over three decades. This coalition marks once again The Hour Glass’s  prominent status as a purveyor of independent watchmaking and a patron of this highly fastidious craftsmanship. The inclusion of F.P.Journe within the luxury watch retailer’s curated family of established watch brands, further augments as well the maturity of Singapore’s watch collecting community.

A new chapter with infinite potential

Premiering at the prestigious Malmaison boutique located in the heart of Orchard Road, we are confident that we will indeed reap a long-lasting and highly successful relationship with them.”

A highly acclaimed watchmaker
From the outstanding Grand Sonnerie, the ultra slim Répétition Souveraine, the emblematic Chronomètre à Résonance or Chronomètre Optimum, to the amazing Octa automatic caliber with a 5 days power reserve, F.P. Journe’s exceptional pedigree of exquisite creations have gained the esteem of watch aficionados and has received some of the highest accolades by international watch juries.

This includes seven distinctions at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie of Geneva, from which three occasions he was bestowed the Golden Hand “Aiguille d’Or” the ultimate distinction. F.P.Journe was also decorated with the title of “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Minister of Culture.

These achievements constitute him as one of the most awarded and accomplished contemporary watchmakers of his time.

Strength not in numbers but in workmanship
Excellence and precision are the essence of an F.P.Journe watch, as well as authenticity and chronometry. F.P.Journe produces all its movements in 18K rose Gold, a first in the watch industry. Signed with the label Invenit et Fecit- (invented and made), each F.P.Journe exclusive movement guarantees a manufacture calibre, entirely invented, constructed, and assembled in the Geneva workshops.

Mr. François-Paul Journe remains the manufacture’s master watchmaker, yet another unique quality of this independent watch manufacturer. With his technical and watchmaker skills, he makes it a point to design and manufacture each of his mechanical watches one by one and in limited quantities.

With a limited production of less than 900 timepieces per year, the sanctuary of the F.P. Journe Manufacture honours artisanal work.
