An Exclusive Plenary Session with Legendary Watchmaking Luminaries

A rare occasion where these legends of the watch world gathered for an exchange of views on horology
In a world of mass production, it is laudable that true artisans still exist. Legendary independent grand watchmasters are the exemplars of highly skilled craftsmen honouring ancient traditions to produce only limited numbers of exquisite eponymous timepieces where every piece is painstakingly put together.
Over a hundred watch enthusiasts turned up in much anticipation for the rare occasion of meeting the legendary independent grandmasters in the flesh. Luminary grandmasters – Philippe Dufour, Laurent Ferrier, Roger Smith and Kari Voutilainen were in town on 26 September at The Hour Glass’ first pop-up store “Super Machines and Horological Heroes” to conduct an exclusive plenary session with the guests present. For one night only, these legendary masters convened in Singapore to fuel an exchange of horological discourse.

It was an interesting and profound session where the grandmasters gallantly took questions from the floor and gave their personal views on a breath of horological topics. The evening marked the first time these grandmasters convened to host a Question & Answer Session and moderated by Mr Kevin Tan. Many guests were inspired at their first personal encounter with these prodigious masters.
