One of the last independent watchmakers in the trade, Sinn Spezialuhren was founded in 1961 by Helmut Sinn, a former World War II pilot and instructor for blind flight. The company has been rooted in aviation culture since its first years. As its name highlights it – “Spezialuhren” in German means “specialty watches”, it has built its reputation as a manufacturer of navigation clocks and pilot chronographs. Pilot watches have arguably been the manufacture’s best sellers since. Although it may not be the most glorious time for the aviation industry at the moment, let’s shift our focus to some of Sinn‘s most notable pilot watches while air travel is recovering slowly but surely.
