Hublot Big Bang e

Hublot introduces the Big Bang e. The 42 mm Big Bang e is Hublot’s latest Connected Watch, it follows in the footsteps of the 2018 Big Bang Referee Connected Watch. Available in either Black Ceramic or Titanium, both feature a matte black 327-pixel, 30.8 mm diameter AMOLED screen under sapphire crystal and come on interchangeable black rubber-lined straps.

Powered by Google’s Wear OS, the Big Bang e features digital interpretations of traditional complications such as a perpetual calendar with a pixel-perfect moon phase and a second GMT time zone complication. It also houses an accelerometer, a gyroscope, haptic feedback, and sports the familiar design codes Hublot watches are known for. That being: the ‘sandwich’ case design, the large rubberised crown, visible screws, satin-finished surfaces and ergonomic rubberised straps

The hour numerals are metallised underneath the scratch-proof sapphire crystal, which is covered with an AMOLED high definition touchscreen. Just like a mechanical version of the Big Bang, its rotary crown with integrated pusher is used to activate the controls for its electronic module. Developed in partnership with other brands within the LVMH Group.

In terms of functionality, the Hublot Big Bang e is water-resistant to 30 metres and power-reserve of one day. Taking approximately 2.5 hours to recharge, meaning that you can put the watch down on Friday night and pick it up on Friday night and it’ll be ready to go.

The Hublot Big Bang e also comes with a series of art dials designed by Marc Ferrero. Every three hours, the dial changes colour, meaning eight creations are displayed in sequence over a 24-hour period. Each of these is based on a specific colour: Happy Yellow, Magic Blue, Orange Dynamite, All White, Lucky Green, Magic Red, Rainbow Spirit and Black Magic. Every full hour is marked with the appearance of an animation that lasts five seconds. An interesting feature which nicely reflects Hublot’s close association with the world of art.
