Ulysse Nardin Vendée Globe Virtual Experience

Regarded as one of the most challenging yacht races, skippers in the Vendée Globe compete by sailing around the world without any stops or assistance. Named the “Everest of the Seas”, of the 167 skippers who have attempted the Vendée Globe since the race began in 1968, only 89 have made it across the finish line.

The extreme quadrennial event is back in 2020, beginning and ending at the Sables d’Olonnes, France on Sunday 8th November. Ulysse Nardin is sponsoring the Vendée Globe and is the official timekeeper – a natural partnership considering Ulysse Nardin’s history of making marine chronometers and close affiliation with other maritime pursuits.

Virtual Vendée Globe + Prizes

Developed by Virtual Regatta, Virtual Vendée Globe can be accessed in app or via the website and enables sailing and gaming enthusiasts to experience the gruelling race from the comfort of their homes. Boats will digitally compete for first place, facing virtual dangers that mirror those faced by the skippers in the Vendée Globe Race. A vessel flying Ulysse Nardin’s colours can be found among them.

The first gamer that arrives in Les Sables d’Olonne after passing through the legendary Nemo Point will be awarded with a Ulysse Nardin Diver x Nemo Point watch. The Ulysse Nardin Challenge will reward the final overall winner of the virtual Vendée Globe with a Diver x Cape Horn watch.

The Virtual Regatta will take place here: https://www.virtualregatta.com/en/offshore-game/
