3 Things To Know About Girard-Perregaux From Its CEO
Best known for its iconic Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges, Girard-Perregaux was established over two centuries but remains familiar only to aficionados. At the helm of Girard-Perregaux since the start of 2015, Chief Executive Antonio Calce aims to capitalise on the brand’s strengths to restore it to its rightful position as a leading haute horlogerie manufacture.
Here, Calce himself tells us three things everyone should know about Girard-Perregaux:
A 200 year old, true manufacture
“Girard-Perregaux is one of the oldest watch brands and manufactures. We were born in 1791, and therefore the brand has written concrete chapters of the Swiss watch industry’s story. We are strongly part of the watchmaking heritage of our country and we are proud of it.”
Girard-Perregaux has historically combined movement expertise with design
“Our roots and history, since the time of founder Jean-François Bautte, have always linked closely movement creation, innovation and technology with the design and case. I could say that it is Girard-Perregaux signature. Melding perfectly design, technology, craftsmanship, innovations, know-how and tradition to propose timekeepers that are a true incarnation of the pure Swiss high watchmaking.”
Girard-Perregaux is true haute horlogerie
“Finally, our products are real masterpieces as they reflect perfectly our in-house mastery and know-how, craftsmanship, quest for quality, and above all, our constant search for perfection. Especially in movement and case finishing, which is also true signature of high end watchmaking or haute horlogerie.”
