The Latest from Zenith at LVMH Watch Week 2023
Following last year’s successful launch, Zenith expands its DEFY Skyline collection further with a new Skyline Skeleton, and colourful dials in a new slimmed-down 36mm case.
Zenith DEFY Skyline Skeleton
The high-frequency automatic El Primero calibre 3620 SK makes a presence in the new Zenith DEFY Skyline Skeleton, with the 1/10th second hand taking centre stage in this new skeletonised watch. Drawing inspiration from the DEFY models of the 1960s, the new Zenith DEFY Skyline Skeleton reinterprets the DNA of the collection in a contemporary design. The angular 41mm steel case with its sharply defined edges and faceted bezel is a modern interpretation of its early DEFY models. The new open dial takes on the form of four-pointed stars, a harmoniously symmetrical design that is a further nod to the “double Z” Zenith logos of the same period.
The DEFY Skyline Skeleton comes black or blue, with the skeleton movement finished in the same colour as the open dials for a cohesive and architectural look. The steel watches come on a matching steel bracelet that is satin-brushed with chamfered and polished edges, as well as a rubber strap that matches the colour of the dial, with a steel folding buckle. The quick strap-change mechanisms allow easy switching between the steel bracelet and rubber strap without the need for additional tools.
Zenith DEFY Skyline 36mm
Further expanding the collection, Zenith launches 6 new iterations of the DEFY Skyline. The new 36mm case retains the angular form of the original, in slimmer unisex proportions. It comes in three dial colours: a metallic deep blue, pastel pink, and pastel green. All dials have a metallic base that is polished then satin-brushed, with rays emanating from the Zenith five-pointed star at the top of the dial, and a geometric four-pointed star pattern. The perfectly aligned date wheels match the dial colour, ensuring visual cohesion. The raised and sloped dodecagonal chapter ring adds additional architectural depth as the bezel. Available with or without brilliant-cut white diamonds on the bezel, the mid-sized DEFY Skyline comes with a steel bracelet and a matching starry-patterned rubber strap that can be quickly changed without additional tools. The manufacture calibre Elite 670 automatic movement powers the watch.
