Zenith Defy 21 ‘Carl Cox’

Earlier this year, Zenith introduced its newest Friend of the Brand, world-renowned DJ and producer Carl Cox. An undisputed living legend in electronic music and specifically “techno”, Carl Cox is credited with bringing his craft to new heights and his unique sound to a global audience. From underground rave parties in the 80s to main stage performances at festivals and his own stage at Burning Man as well as his pioneering record label, Carl’s undeniable talent has propelled him from his humble beginnings to becoming one of the most revered and influential personalities in the world of electronic music.

Vinyl Seconds 

For his first eponymous special edition watch, the DEFY 21 Carl Cox, limited to 200 pieces, Zenith created a DJ-inspired execution of its futuristic 1/100^th of a second chronograph, with a carbon fibre bezel and strap stitching that glow in the dark. The open-worked dial also features a power-reserve indication at 12 and a vinyl-shaped running seconds sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position.

9004 Automatic

Inside ticks the El Primero 9004 automatic movement. Equipped with two regulating organs and escapements, one beating at 5Hz for timekeeping, and the other at an incredible 50Hz to offer a true 1/100th of a second chronograph display, the El Primero 21 is the culmination of over 50 years of perfecting the automatic chronograph at the Zenith manufacture. Water resistant to 10 ATM and with a power-reserve of 50 hours. 

The Zenith Defy 21 ‘Carl Cox’ comes on a black rubber strap with red “Cordura effect”,  Super-LumiNova stitchings. and has a titanium double folding buckle with black carbon head. Limited to 200.
