MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Tiger Eye

Stones have a strong affinity with the MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT collection. Following the success of the FlyingT with lapis lazuli and green malachite dials, the latest edition features a mesmerising tiger eye dial.

Designed for Women

Initially released in 2019, the Legacy Machine FlyingT is the first MB&F horological art dedicated to women. The design of the Legacy Machine FlyingT draws associations from the feminine and maternal influences in Maximilian Büsser’s life. The tourbillon projects high above the rest of the engine, on a dynamic column that sits close to the top of the high convex crystal. At the top of the tourbillon cage, a single large diamond rotates simultaneously with the 60-second flying tourbillon, emitting the stone’s fiery brilliance with every move. Through the crystal case back, the red gold automatic winding rotor resembles a sun with sculpted rays and provides the FlyingT with 100 hours of power reserve.

The column-like structure of the flying tourbillon was very important to me as I felt very strongly that women form the pillar of humanity. Eye of the Tiger

A semi-precious variety of quartz that exhibits chatoyancy, tiger eye is so named for the luminescent band that resembles a cat’s eye. It has long been used in jewellery as a stone of protection. The yellow gold case and hands of the new FlyingT visually harmonise with the undulating streaks of yellow to dark brown of the tiger eye dial and plate.

Like the lapis lazuli and green malachite editions, the counter at 7 o’clock is tilted at 50 degrees to face the wearer, and has no numerals. The distinctive serpentine hands that show the time are connected to conical gears that optimally transmit torque from one plane to another.  168 diamonds on the case, crowns, buckle, and tourbillon cage add further brilliance to the look of the FlyingT.
