Hublot Baselworld 2015 – 10 Years Of BIG BANG
The Year of BIG BANG: 10th Anniversary Celebration
BIG BANG. 10 YEARS. This will be the hot topic on the lips of every watch aficionado when they speak of Hublot in 2015. The audacious brand which champions the Art of Fusion concept is known for its foray into new frontiers through its breakthrough innovations and ideas in watchmaking. It is thus perfectly apt to coin 2015 as “The Year of BIG BANG”, for it marks the 10th year milestone for Hublot’s watchmaking icon and a perfect illustration of Hublot’s Art of Fusion DNA.
The Hublot BIG BANG was born exactly just 10 years ago in 2005. The brainchild of Jean-Claude Biver, President of Hublot and President of Watch Division of LVMH, along with his team, led by Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot CEO, the Big Bang is based on an idea which is central to the art of fusion. What makes it interesting and enigmatic is that BIG BANG is based on an element of surprise; the combination of 2 paradoxical materials or concepts that are not normally found together. Like Midas touch, the BIG BANG is the result of transforming the unexpected and the ordinary, into something precious and iconic.
Hublot Big Bang Alarm Repeater and Big Bang Chrono Perpetual Calendar
For the Watch Purists passionate about high complications and watchmaking heavyweights, Hublot revisits this spectrum through 2 new collections – the Big Bang Alarm Repeater and Big Bang Chrono Perpetual Calendar. It is truly a fusion of tradition and modernity; Hublot combines the spirit of innovation to one of the most practical and oldest complications – the mechanical alarm clock. The Big Bang Alarm Repeater also features another complication: a second time zone. This would tickle the heart of every classicist, who are able to appreciate time-telling by listening to the beautiful alarm gong chiming.
A first perpetual calendar by Hublot, the Big Bang Chrono Perpetual Calendar is the quintessence of watchmaker’s art in a Big Bang. This Grande Complication combines 3 major complications: the chronograph, the perpetual calendar and the moon phase. For those in the know, perpetual calendars are famous for its extreme dexterity and complexity, thus associated with watchmaking pride and pinnacle. This will be the new watch conquest for the watch purists who appreciate age-old tradition and yet unafraid of embracing the new innovation of today.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Italia Independent
Creative Individuals with a flair for design and details will cast their vote on the Big Bang Unico Italia Independent – a timepiece that features a brand new material, Texalium – exclusive to Hublot. Designed in collaboration with Italia Independent, of whom Lapo Elkann is Chairman and Co-Founder, the standout feature of this timepiece is the colour variation made available thanks to Texalium. The aluminium-coated carbon fibre can be designed in different colours and best of all, it comes with all the lightness of carbon fibre.
Available in two colourways – blue or grey – the timepiece is guaranteed to electrify the wrist of anyone wearing it! Another unique detailing is the denim fabric strap with grey or black studs, typically seen on luxury shoes. The strap benefits from the interchangeable “One Click” system, which enables the wearers to choose from a wide range of straps as they like. This is certainly an unmistakable trademark of Hublot, known for its colourful persona and multiplicity of watch straps for new looks!
Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Carbon
What keeps the adrenaline pumping for Racing Fanatics would be the Big Bang Ferrari Carbon. This timepiece can be likened to mission impossible… Why? Because the Big Bang Ferrari Carbon combines 2 components which cannot be mixed – carbon and metal – to create an exclusive bezel. This is the first time a watch has featured this original composite, an embodiment of exclusivity and sporting prowess; a fusion of high-quality and high-tech materials.
It took the R&D 6 months to structure the layers of materials which form the bi-material bezel. The result is a carbon bezel incrusted with gold, or titanium, reinforcing the high-tech spirit of the Big Bang model. Sports enthusiasts are no stranger to Hublot’s collaborative partnership with Ferrari of 3 successful years and running. In 2015, Hublot continues to bring new innovation to the fore, creating new automobile inspired timekeepers and upping the ante for car racing fans.
Celebrating 10 Years of BIG BANG, Hublot’s signature collection is set to be the talk of the town of 2015. Presenting an oeuvre of timepieces tailored for every Friend of Hublot, this stunning family of Big Bangs continue to be in the brightest of limelight in the watchmaking stratosphere.
