Parmigiani Fleurier
Parmigiani Fleurier
Founded: 1996
Parmigiani Fleurier was established in 1996, with the intention to be a brand that’s rich in expert craftsmanship and at the cutting edge of watchmaking.
In 1976, Michel Parmigiani, a young timepiece restorer, opened his traditional watch workshop in Couvet, as the quartz crisis was ravaging the industry. He took the plunge, despite everyone’s advice. During the day, he restored antique pieces; in his spare time, he gave free reign to his creativity, dreaming up complex horological pieces.
“Restoration gave me the confidence to pursue my watchmaking dreams, which others claimed were obsolete.” – Michel Parmigiani
By restoring important pieces from the Musée Patek Philippe and the Château des Monts, Michel Parmigiani forged a reputation as a watchmaker and restorer of rare talent.
With encouragement from the Sandoz Family Foundation, the Parmigiani Fleurier brand was created and officially launched in 1996.
Restoration is an opportunity to contemplate several centuries of watchmaking to understand and master the technical subtleties of the mechanisms created by our forefathers.
Restoration is always a rich source of inspiration for the present creations – as seen in several timepieces within Parmigiani Fleurier’s collection.
