Mr Oliviero Bottinelli -
CEO of Audemars Piguet South East
Asia |
“The interaction
at Tempus is what I find the most
important during these few days
and I really look forward to be
able to interact, chat, discuss
and share a common passion which
is so close to our heart.
Where else in the world will
you be able to find a retailer
with enough passion and guts to
ask so many competitive brands
to join in such as an adventure?
And this interaction can really
be found only during Tempus, because
once again so many different people
from the industry will be there
talking to each other but also
mixing with the end customers,
the collectors, the aficionados,
the novices, the specialists,
the journalists, etc.
Singapore is the country where
the industry has generated so
much genuine passion and interest
that I find it only right and
natural to call it the Asian Capital
of Horology.”

Mr Georges Henri Meylan
- President & CEO of Audemars
Piguet Group |
“Tempus is one of the major
events in watchmaking industry
and the most important watch fair
in Asia. With more than 60 brands
represented, the quality and beauty
of the watches displayed during
the exhibition will be like no
other. It's also one of the only
opportunity to admire, at the
same place and at the same time,
models from brands that are usually
never exhibiting together. Tempus
is maybe the most complete and
representative event of the watchmaking
universe.
Of course, I am looking forward
to discovering the watches displayed
and most of all the World Premieres
that will be presented. But I
am also very curious to see the
activities that have been prepared.
It promises to be particularly
interesting because Tempus will
be proposing historical retrospective
as well as forums and cultural
exhibitions. For example, the
Photohorology competition is something
really original.
Singapore is a very powerful
and interesting market for watchmaking.
We already know since years that
lots of people living in Singapore
love watches. There are top-quality
magazines being published in Singapore.
The latest trends and innovations
are always well covered and documented.
It's obvious that the public has
a passion for watchmaking. “

Mr Francesco Trapani - CEO of Bulgari Group |
“Bulgari is delighted to
be a part of TEMPUS 2007 which
promises to be a successful exhibition
that will promote the watch industry
in general and the art of fine
watchmaking, in particular. With
an impressive array of brands
and a dynamic five-day program,
it will also contribute to strengthen
Singapore’s position as
the Asian capital of horology.
Bulgari is proud to support TEMPUS
2007 and I congratulate The Hour
Glass for its vision and commitment
in taking the watch industry in
the region to new heights.”
|
Mr Frank Müller - President of Glashütter Uhrenbetrieb GmbH |
“There are many reasons
why I strongly believe that The
Hour Glass is one of the world’s
top leading retailers for fine
and complicated watches. A very
important one is The Hour Glass’
organisation of the exciting TEMPUS
event. TEMPUS comprises a bouquet
of fascinating activities to introduce
watch enthusiasts in Singapore
and around the globe into the
myth of haute horlogerie. Glashütte
Original is very proud, indeed,
to have been invited to participate
in presenting its own watch making
school. One professor and a handful
of students will travel the long
distance from Germany to Singapore
to explain in live sessions how
future generations of watch makers
are trained. Enabling such ventures
in the context of TEMPUS, The
Hour Glass strengthens Singapore’s
position as THE hot spot of high
class watches in Asia.”
|
Mr Manuel Emch - Managing Director of Jaquet Droz SA |
“Tempus is a great opportunity
for us to convey the true values
of horological tradition and know
how to this part of the world.
All the more so as The Hour Glass
is devoted to promoting the art
and culture of contemporary watchmaking
thus giving an invaluable insight
into the fascinating world of
watches.
The chance to share our vision
and passion with aficionados and
neophytes alike. It is always
fascinating to listen to various
points of view and get perceptions
from another culture as it brings
diversity and newness to existing
ideas.
Singapore has many assets be
it culturally and commercially.
It is currently one of the most
flourishing capitals of Asia which
can pride itself of many endeavours
that will certainly contribute
to a successful return on investments
in the future. Needless to say
that watchmaking is among those
lucky bets.”
|
Mr Jerome Lambert - CEO of Jaeger LeCoultre |
“Tempus is important because
it is dedicated to the watchmaking
culture, for developing this culture
we all need to nurture it. Tempus
with the number, the diversity,
the quality of conferences serves
to develop the watchmaking culture.
Exchange, discussions with other
companies of this industry are
important. Meeting with brand
lovers is also very interesting,
we have more and more opportunities
to chat on blog or internet but
the live conference and debate
are really fruitful.
Singapore is remarkable for its
competence and savoir faire –
During these last 20 years, Singapore
specialised in high watchmaking,
you can find people very creative
: a unique network of retailers,
knowledge of sales forces and
a creative communication in term
of magazine and website which
reach the international network
now.”
|
Mr Thierry Stern - Vice-President of Patek Philippe |
“Singapore is an amazing
market as there are a high number
of connoisseurs and collectors
with an indepth knowledge and
appreciation of the art of fine
watchmaking. After a very successful
TEMPUS 3 years ago, we are certainly
looking forward to this second
installment that is sure to provide
us with that platform to touch
base and network with this group
of highly sophisticated customers.
Besides, we also value the close
relationship we have had with
The Hour Glass over the last 28
years. It is very important for
Patek Philippe to be here.”
|
Mr. Carlos Dias - President, Founder and CEO of MANUFACTURER ROGER DUBUIS |
“TEMPUS
is important to ROGER DUBUIS because
it is the only watch exhibition
in Asia that targets consumers
directly. While other watch exhibitions
are mainly for trade and media,
TEMPUS focuses on empowering consumers
with knowledge and insight into
the watch-making industry.
Our brand strives to develop
simple, complicated and highly
complicated movements in-house
and deliver timepieces of exceptional
quality. Indeed, all the movements
are stamped with the Geneva Seal.
TEMPUS is a vital platform as
it allows us to share with our
customers the essence of Swiss
watch-making and showcase that
ROGER DUBUIS is devoted to the
complete independence of production.
We are definitely looking forward
to showing the visitors our Movement
Exhibition, which was first hosted
during SIHH 2007. For the first
time ever, the exhibition will
make a grand appearance in Asia.
Visitors will have a chance to
witness all 28 movements conceived,
developed and produced by Manufacturer
Roger Dubuis since its inception,
and discover the attentive craftsmanship
behind every ROGER DUBUIS timepiece.
We are also anticipating the preview
of our SIHH 2007 novelties –
Excalibur JFK, Excalibur Perpetual
Calendar – Minute Repeater
– Tourbillon, and Excalibur
Gioia for the visitors.
Singapore is home to some of
the most sophisticated watch brands.
The level of knowledge in luxury
watches that local consumers possess
is high in terms of appreciation
of quality and the ability to
foresee future watch trends. In
a dynamic consumer environment
like Singapore, we are confident
that it is the perfect place to
hold the title “Asian Capital
of Horology”.”
