Witness
the world premiere of
the Museum of Contemporary
Horological Art (MOCHA).
First announced in September
2006, it is the flagship
initiative of The Hour
Glass Foundation of Contemporary
Horological Art (FOCHA)
– an institution
aimed at promoting globally,
the art and culture of
contemporary watchmaking.
Aspiring
to be what New York’s
Museum of Modern Art is
to the modern and contemporary
art world, MOCHA will
house some of the most
important collections
of contemporary horological
art and design. In the
first installation of
MOCHA, witness the changing
faces of the wristwatch
over the past 30 years,
with collections from
rare private collections
and international museums.
These
technical marvels will
be presented at TEMPUS
in 5 categories, namely
“Fun with Numbers
& Timekeepers –
Mechanical Distillation
of Timekeeping”,
“Double Face –
Watches that Utilise Decentralised
Multiple Sub-dials”,
The Visible World”,
“Soul Barring –
New Design Aesthetics,
as well as “A Diffferent
Case – Different
Materials Used”.
